Following in the footsteps of Sparkle Bear comes Goldfield's own Buttercup Bear! Off to travel the world. Remember to watch his progress on the World Map in the school hall and by visiting this webpage.

Buttercup Bear was introduced to the children at the end of One World Week! We are hoping that Buttercup will be taken all around the world. The label on Buttercup explains his mission and asks people to take him with them or to pass him on directly to someone else and then to email our school so that we can track his journey.

	Buttercup arrives in Indonesia

Buttercup is enjoying a visit to the Prep Class at the Australian International School in Indonesia.	The students wanted to know how long Buttercup had been travelling? Well, Buttercup has been travelling for 15 months, leaving Goldfield in July 2010, on his first visit to Norway. Since then Buttercup has visited many countries. Please scroll down to view the history of his journey around the world so far.	We are very excited because letters from the Prep class have arrived. All of the letters have been put into Buttercup's postcard book in the school hall. Photographs follow below.
	Dear Students, Buttercup and I climbed the wall. Buttercup loved it! I come from Italy. I wish I could take him with me.
	Buttercup likes to read books. He likes to read in the library. Buttercup likes to read many books.
	We took Buttercup in the pool (not really). The pool is clean. He wanted to take a shower. We are from Indonesia
	Buttercup went down the slide. Buttercup loves to play with us. We are from Korea.
	We took Buttercup on a beck ride that we have at our school in Indonesia. We love buttercup. We are from Scotland and Indonesia.
	We are in LOTE class. In here we learn Bahasa Indonesia. Selmat Pagi! We are from Iran and Korea.

	Buttercup goes Skiing in Australia

	Dear Students of Goldfield Buttercup has travelled to Thredbo, a ski resort in Australia. He has been to the highest peak in the world! Buttercup will continue his journey to Bali, so keep watching!

	Buttercup returns to Beijing April 2011 and Buttercup enjoys a week with a Reception Class at Dulwich College Beijing. Buttercup was planning to travel to Vietnam over the Easter Holidays but stowed away in someone's book bag and missed the plane. But, it seems that Buttercup may travel to Australia next!

and shares a story in the book corner.	Playtime and Buttercup has lots of fun with all of the children!

	From Singapore to Phuket before returning to Singapore and Johannesburg where Buttercup will be passed to his next guardians for a trip back to England and hopefully lots more exciting desinations!

	Hello Goldfield, My Grandaughter was given Buttercup in Mauritius and carried him to Johannesburg. We will be taking Buttercup to Singapore.
	Buttercup arrives in Canada!
	Hi, My name is Megan, I am 11 years old and I have taken Buttercup to Brooklin, Ontario, Canada. Buttercup complained about his journey here because he was crammed into a little package for a very long journey all the way across the ocean from Maisie's home in England. Buttercup will stay for a couple of weeks with me, my Mom, Dad, brother Colton and my many pets Rugby my dog, Dakota my bearded dragon, Sport my hamster and Billy my fish. Next my cousin Cheyenne will take Buttercup to Jamaica. It is very cold here zero degrees outside we think it might snow anytime.	Toronto Ontario

This hotel is amazing, there are lots of animals here, horses, goats and even giant toroises!		It's very hot I have to keep resting in the shade!

	A holiday in Tenerife!
	Hello Goldfield, Our family was given Buttercup Bear when we were on holiday in Tenerife. We had a wonderful time and decided to bring Buttercup home with us to Wath-Upon-Dearne in South Yorkshire. We have given Buttercup to a family who are travelling home to Canada. Hopefully you will hear from Buttercup soon! From Maisie and Max

"Ni Hoa" Hello from Buttercup in China

Buttercup visits Beijing and Tiananmen Square. He had lots of fun practising eating with chopsticks. Buttercup is travelling with a sound engineer, soon Buttercup will journey to Berlin in Germany. Keep watching for news of his arrival!

Buttercup has a wonderful time travelling with his host and hostess. This photograph was taken at the Water Tower on Orange Beach. It is very hot! Buttercup is happy to report that the beaches are all beautiful, white and sandy (no oil and tar after the oil leak).

Buttercup had lunch at a restaurant called Lulu's which is owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister. (Jimmy Buffet is a famous singer who sings about cheeseburgers in paradise.)

From Houston Buttercup went to stay with a family in Woodlands. The family have 2 children aged 9 and 7 and Buttercup is going on holiday with them. He will be heading for Texas but first he will go to the seaside, Orange Beach, Alabama. Lucky Buttercup!

Buttercup's adventures in Cuba!

My holiday in Cuba has been amazing! I stayed in the capital city of Havana. I have trekked through the jungle, visited banana plantations and farms where the fields are ploughed by an ox and plough. I found time to relax on the beach and do you know ..... the sea is as warm as having a bath at home!

Buttercup arrives in Denmark and visits Copenhagen


I arrived in Copenhagen by plane and I have been travelling around in a basket on a bike! I have been to a school where I met lots of Danish children, you can see some of them in this photograph. I have made a new friend "Kaerlighed" a teddy bear just like me. I hope to be travelling to China next so keep watching this space!
