Wells in Tanzania
The school had a visit from Rachel Blackmore who has set up a charity in the village of Ngorongoro in Tanzania, Africa.
The charity’s aim is to relieve poverty among the Maasai people who live there.
Their main concern is to provide clean drinking water. The streams they depend on are contaminated by their own livestock and wild animals and yet they still have to drink it. This results in frequent typhoid infections.
The charity, along with the villagers has planned and built 4 wells.
We raised £154 for Ngorongoro village by selling some of the jewellery made by the Maasai women
