Cursive 10 (a) unjoined.
One of our main aims at Goldfield is for children to develop a love of reading. We endeavour to foster this enjoyment through a variety of activities. Studies have shown that reading is the key to progress in every area of the curricululm and particulary important in developing spelling skills.
We are delighted to share with you our exciting new Reading Raffle initiative. Children are encourage to read at home at least three times a week (their school reading books as well as their own books). On Friday mornings the children hand in their reading contact book. When the class teacher can see three (or more) adult signatures in the reading contact book they will be entered into the Reading Raffle. The raffle will be drawn every Monday and the lucky winner will receive a brand new book.
